Alberto Valentin Soto passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on April 30, 1937, in Isabella, Puerto Rico to parents, Saturino Soto Cruz and Leocardia Valentin Arocho (Cayita).
Alberto later moved to New Brunswick, NJ where he joined the U.S. Army as a Private First Class and married Carmen Seda. They had four children.
Alberto worked for Triangle Conduit & Cable Company for most of his life and received his high school certificate in 1972. He was known in the community as a true gentleman and enjoyed getting together with his friends and brothers over a couple of beers.
He was a true avid Mets fan with a broad knowledge of all players, both past and present. He was truly a hopeless believer ‘that this year can be the one.
Alberto is survived by his children, Carmen Rosado, Lucy Arriaga and husband Jorge, Magdalena Cuervo and husband Carlos, and Daniel Soto; four grandchildren: Danielle, Michael, Ani and Jorge II; and one great grandchild (Leilani) on the way. Also surviving are his younger siblings: Manual, Reinaldo, Irma, Alica & Ester.
He is preceded in death by both his parents, Carmen Soto, and four brothers.
May he rest in peace, embraced by the warmth of those who have gone before him.
