Cynthia L. Bloom, 81, of Edison, New Jersey passed away on July 26, 2026. A retired English teacher at John F. Kennedy High School in Islin NJ; she enjoyed directing the school play, advising on the school newspaper and yearbook, but most of all she loved to teach. Outside of school she enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting Las Vegas, and spending time with her family whenever possible.Cynthia was the beloved wife of the late Edward I. Bloom, with whom she shared forty-seven wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2015. She is survived by her sons Adam and Bryan, their wives Lorelis and Toni, four grandchildren, Zachary, Noah, Alex, and Isabelle, brother Arthur of New York, New York and many nieces and nephews. Cyndy and Ed were long time congregants of Congregation Beth El in Edison, New Jersey where She served as the first female president of the congregation as well as on many other committees. Cynthia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
The funeral will be held at Congregation Beth-El, 91 Jefferson Blvd, Edison, NJ, Tuesday, July, 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM, followed by Burial at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. Shiva will be observed at Bryan’s home in Edison. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.
