Mrs. Edith I. (Felix) Markus, 92, passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of Friday, February 5, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, then came to the United States in 1956 with her husband, Denes settling in Stuart, Florida. The relocated to New Jersey, 55 years ago where Mrs. Markus has resided in Somerset, NJ ever since.
When, Edith lived in Hungary, she wrote children's stories. One of her stories, A Zsarnok Medve, was made into a short film, which can be seen on YouTube today. Upon her moving to the United States, Mrs. Markus did graphic art consulting, while raising her family. Art was one of her "big" loves.
Predeceased by her infant son, Denes Markus and her husband, Denes K. Markus in 2004. Mrs. Markus leaves behind to celebrate her long life, her daughters Lillian Markus and her husband Michael Bambo and Rosemary Weston and her husband Matt, and her grandchildren James Bambo, Caroline Bambo, Candice Delgado, Michael Delgado and his wife Stacy, and Jessica Delgado.
Visitation will take place at St. Ladislaus RC Church, 215 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 9 - 10 am. Funeral mass will follow at 10 am. Entombment in St Peter's Cemetery and Mausoleum, 500 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ.
