Eileen Polen Topper
September 12, 1940 – August 4, 2026
Eileen Topper, of East Windsor, NJ, passed away on August 4, 2026, at the age of 85.
Eileen was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 12, 1940. She graduated from Hunter College, where she majored in mathematics and minored in physics. She and her husband Elliot lived in Marlboro, NJ for almost 40 years, where they raised their children. Eileen worked for Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance, first as a computer programmer, and later in management. Her son Andrew (1972-2023) was developmentally disabled. She was a staunch advocate for him - as well as for other disabled persons - ensuring he had everything he needed. She survived both breast cancer and thyroid cancer and was an outspoken advocate for cancer treatment and research. She loved to play Scrabble and bridge, cook, travel, and host parties at her home. She is survived by her husband Elliot, her daughter Elizabeth, her grandchildren Zachary, Eli, and Samantha, and her many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at Cedar Park Cemetery, 735 Forest Ave, Paramus NJ 07652, at 1pm on Monday August 24. Shiva will be Monday and Tuesday, August 24 and 25, at the home of Eileen and Elliot in East Windsor.
