Giovanni Vazquez-Mozo, 15, passed away on February 22, 2026.
Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey and raised in North Brunswick, New Jersey, Giovanni was a freshman in high school with a bright future ahead of him. He enjoyed playing video games such as Overwatch and Roblox, spending time on TikTok, singing along to his favorite music, and dancing. He especially enjoyed the music of Kali Uchis, The Marías, Sabrina Carpenter, and Bad Bunny.
Giovanni had many dreams for his future. He aspired to become an engineer and also dreamed of becoming a singer. He hoped to travel to Japan one day, particularly to visit Sanrio Puroland. He loved Pompompurin and proudly kept a collection of his favorite plush toys in his room. He also dreamed of visiting Hawaii and relaxing on the beach. In addition, Giovanni wished to travel to Mexico to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A devoted Catholic, Giovanni held a deep faith and special devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Giovanni’s favorite color was pink, and his favorite movie was Five Nights at Freddy's. He adored his two pets, Paleta and Bella. Among his favorite foods were tamales verdes, pasta, sushi, dumplings, strawberries, ramen, and mint ice cream. He also loved spending time swimming at the lake each summer.
Giovanni is survived by his loving parents, Romalda Mozo and Benancio Vazquez; his sisters, Leslie, Vanessa, and Adamaris; and his niece, Juliette. He was a cherished son, brother, and uncle.
Giovanni will be remembered by his family, friends and teachers for his kindness, joyful spirit, and ability to bring laughter to those around him. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
