Gloria Sapiro Schwartz: Mom, Grammy, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Gloria was born in New Brunswick, NJ on August 9, 1943. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1960 and Boston University in 1964. Gloria was a partner in Whimsical Words, composing songs and poems with her friend Ruth Kroll. She planned conferences and events at Littman Jewelers and J. Walter Thompson. Most recently, she was an agent at Davis Realtors.
Gloria was a fixture in the Highland Park community. She was actively involved in the Highland Park Temple Sisterhood. She was a Canasta Connoisseur, a Book Club Devotee, and always up for a long walk with her friends. Gloria was passionate about taking care of her friends, family, and anyone she could help.
But Gloria was most proud of her three children, nine grandchildren, and her vibrant social life.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Isadore Sapiro. She is survived by her siblings, Arlene Schenerman, Joan Freudenberger, David Sapiro, and her children from her former husband Carl Schwartz, Jay Schwartz (Aly Mandel), Robbie Schwartz (Dayna Greenspan), and Lynnie Pizzulli (Tony Pizzulli), and her nine grandchildren, Will, Ava, Emily, Kate, Theo, Nina, PJ, Elli, and Sami.
