Heriberto Candelaria, Sr. 77
Heriberto passed away on February 7, 2024 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Known affectionately to his family as "Hery", he was a kind and loving father and grandfather. He was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico and as a young man moved to Brooklyn, New York where he married and fathered 3 children who will miss him greatly. He tried his hand at a number of trades and is best remembered for driving an ice cream truck and bringing smiles to children on the streets of South Brooklyn. He later moved back to Puerto Rico where he re-connected deeply with his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews as well as his beloved island. He then moved back to New Jersey to spend his remaining years with his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He enjoyed entertaining with clever jokes and dreaming of winning the lottery. We know you will find all the riches you'll ever need in the arms of our lord, Jesus Christ.
