James John Carroll

James “Jimmy” J. Carroll, 90, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Saint Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1935 to Anastasia and Peter Carroll.

James was a lifelong resident of North Brunswick, NJ. He devoted many years of his life to serving as a foreman at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick, NJ. He also proudly served in the United States Marines.

James was a dedicated NY Mets fan and loved his lottery scratch off tickets. He enjoyed watching westerns, especially John Wayne movies.

James was predeceased by his wife, Joan Carroll; 12 siblings; two grandchildren, Brian and Amanda Smith; and a great granddaughter, Alyssa Starrick.

James is survived by his: daughters, Janice Flickinger of Burlington, NJ, Lea Marsicano of Myrtle Beach, SC and JoAnn Hildahl of De Pere, WI; twin brother, William L. Carroll, Sr. of New Brunswick, NJ; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A prayer service will begin at 12:00 PM, with burial immediately following at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick, NJ.
