Jordon Brown, 87, passed away on May 6, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved his family deeply and treasured the time they spent together. One of his greatest joys was being called “Baba” by his grandchildren, a role he embraced with enormous love and pride.
Born on October 24, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, Jordon later moved to New York City to pursue a career in journalism. While life ultimately led him down a different path, his ambition and entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to start his own business in the 1970s, where he built a long and successful career until his retirement.
It was in New York, in Washington Square Park, that he met the love of his life, Roberta Rashba Brown. Together they built a beautiful life and shared 52 years of marriage until Roberta’s death on June 30, 2017.
Jordon had a deep love for dogs and found great companionship and comfort in them throughout his life. Those who knew him understood how special animals were to him. Jordon also held a deep connection to his Jewish faith and traditions, which remained an important part of his life and the values he passed on to his family.
Jordon is survived by his daughter, Sondra Brown-Leibner and her husband Phillip Zucker; his son, Mitchell Brown and his wife Bryann Brown; and his grandchildren, Sam Leibner, Aidan Zucker, and Emma Zucker.
He will be remembered for his intelligence, loyalty, devotion to family, and the enduring love story he shared with Roberta.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM, Monday, May 11, 2026, at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, 222 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ, 08901. Burial will follow immediately at Freehold Jewish Center Cemetery, Freehold, NJ.
