Lynn Rae Sokol

Lynn Rae Sokol, 89 who was born in Brooklyn, New York passed on August 25, 2026 at her home in Monroe Township, New Jersey. Lynn was the daughter of Louis and Zelda Graff, and wife of Gilbert Sokol for 64 years until his passing in July 2021. Lynn was blessed with a wonderful family; her son Steven along with his wife Carole, two daughters Samantha Sokol and Celina Kisber, and their respective husbands Daniel Roth and Gabriel Kisber. The light of Lynn’s life was the recent birth of her great-granddaughter Rebecca Kisber. Lynn and Gilbert had a son Marc, who was married to Barbara (of blessed memory) who had two children, Louis and Michael.

Lynn spent the early years of her working career as an administrative assistant to Gilbert in his accounting firm. Later, she worked in the registrar’s office at Kingsborough College in Brooklyn, NY.

Lynn looked forward to every opportunity to spend time with her family. Whether it be just spending time chatting at home or on the phone or going out to meals together at local restaurants. Lynn and Gilbert loved to visit the Nevele Resort Country Club in Ellenville NY, year after year until it closed. They did not travel much outside the U.S but preferred to spend time with family and friends.

Most recently, Lynn enjoyed playing Canasta and Rummikub with her friends at the Monroe Village Community in Monroe New Jersey earning the nickname the “Canasta Queen”. She loved socializing and chatting with her friends about family.

Lynn will be missed by all who knew her. May her memory be for a blessing.
