MARIAN AUYASH

With great sadness we announce the passing of Marian Auyash on September 20, 2026. She was born July 16, 1928, the daughter of Hungarian immigrants, the late Dennis and Goldie Goldstein in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Marian married the love of her life, Morris (Moe), in 1949. They were devoted partners in love and life for 75 years. Marian and Moe settled in Highland Park, New Jersey where Marian raised her children, Stewart and Andrea, with deep love and fierce protection.

After high school Marian worked at the Rutgers University Institute of Microbiology before moving to the Rutgers Medical School as a senior administrator for 25 years until her retirement.

Marian was involved in many charitable activities including the Order of the Golden Chain for which she wrote and edited the monthly newsletter. In her late teens she was perhaps most proud of being the Drum Majorette for the Jewish War Veteran’s Band.

Marian will be remembered for her beauty, style, and impeccable sense of fashion. She enjoyed knitting and gifted her family with many her gorgeous hand-knit afghans, scarves, and sweaters. She loved cooking for her family preparing her mother's Hungarian dishes alongside many Sephardic meals that she had learned from her dear mother-in-law. Marian also loved to travel, exploring the globe with both her husband by her side and with dear friends.

Marian’s greatest joy in life was being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren whom she adored with all her heart.

Marian was preceded in death by her husband Morris; brother Louis Goldstein; daughter-in-law Patricia R. Zimmermann; son-in-law Mark Dinner; and niece Deborah Ann Goldstein.

Marian is survived by her son Stewart; daughter Andrea Dinner, who care for her the past 6 years as she resided in a senior care facility; grandchildren David Dinner and wife Elizabeth; Steven Dinner and his Maria; Sean Auyash and wife Kailey Secrest; great grandchildren Graham, Colette, and Jameson Dinner; sister-in-law Joy Goldstein; and several nieces and nephews. Her dedication, compassion, and love of her family will be the greatest part of her legacy.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the loving, attentive, and compassionate staff at Providence Place Connections Neighborhood in Drums, PA, and Advantage Home Health and Hospice. She was treated like family.

A celebration of Marian’s life will be held at the family’s convenience in the future.
