Miriam R. Martinez

March 5, 1933 — April 30, 2024

Piscataway, NJ

In loving memory of Miriam R. Martinez, a devoted teacher's aide in the Elizabeth School District who gracefully retired in 1986. Miriam was born on March 5, 1933, in the vibrant city of Ponce, Puerto Rico to Elias Camacho and Rosa Gonzalez. She peacefully departed from this world on April 30, 2024, at the age of 91 in Edison, New Jersey, surrounded by her loving family.

Miriam's journey through life took her from her roots in Puerto Rico to various places such as Manhattan, New York, Elizabeth, Newark, New Brunswick, and finally settling in Piscataway, New Jersey. Throughout her life's adventures, she remained a steadfast Parishioner of the Alpha & Omega Pentecostal Church, finding solace and strength in her faith.

A woman of many talents and a heart full of love and compassion; Miriam had a special gift for painting ceramics and creating beautiful art pieces like angels, churches, and cookie jars. Her fondness for the color orange brought brightness into her life, which she endearingly referred to as "Peache."

Miriam's caring nature extended beyond words as she would often offer prayers and healing to those she met along her path. Her spiritual gift was a beacon of hope for many as she invoked the name of Jesus for the well-being of others.

She is survived by her loving sons Richard Martinez and Albert Martinez along with his wife Ana. Miriam will forever be cherished as the beloved grandmother of Melinda Reyes and Matthew Reyes. Additionally, she leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren Lorenzo Reyes, Genasse Gerena, David Jr. Gerena, Garren Gerena, Maylo Suarez and Alana Suarez.

Miriam has now reunited with her late husband Jose M. Martinez (2016) in eternal peace. Her legacy of kindness and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.

In honoring Miriam R. Martinez's life and all that she stood for - may we find comfort in fond memories and solace knowing that she touched countless lives with love and grace.
