Highland Park- Pearl Rand died on December 21, 2012. She was born in Montreal, Canada in 1913 and emmigrated to the U.S. with her family at an early age. Pearl and her husband Herbert moved from Brooklyn, N.Y. to Highland Park in 1973.
She retired in 1970 from the Caledonian Hospital in Brooklyn where she was the Administrative Director in charge of Public Relations and Volunteer Services.
She was a Charter Member of the American Society for Hospital Public Relations Directors of the American Hospital Association.
Pearl was a member of the Highland Park Conservative Temple/ Congregation Anshe Emeth and a member of the Sisterhood of the Temple. She was a life member of Hadassah and of various organizations in Israel, and an auxilliary member of the Central New Jersey Home for the Aged.
Surviving are her daughter Barbara Daniels and husband Kenneth of Edison, NJ; son Robert E. Rand of NYC; four grandchildren, Lori Chasan, Steven Daniels, Noah Rand and Hannah Rand; and three great-grandchildren, Aliza, Rivka and Akiva Chasan.
Graveside services were held on December 23, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery in Saddlebrook, NJ.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish National Fund, the Raritan Valley Chapter of Hadassah or the Highland Park Conservative Temple.
