Rhoda Goldstein, 95, of Highland Park, NJ passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. She was born in New York, NY and was a resident of Highland Park for more than 70 years.

Rhoda worked as an office manager at New Jersey State Unemployment for 25 years.
An active member of the community, she was a former president of both B’nai B’rith and Deborah, volunteered her time registering voters at the polls, and participated in local and state initiatives for a variety of senior citizen organizations in Middlesex County

Rhoda loved to dance and travel. She created and managed a senior’s dance troupe who enjoyed entertaining residents of many nursing homes and assisted living facilities for over 15 years. She personally traveled to Israel, Rome, Japan, and Greece and acted as a coordinator for Elderfest, helping plan local and long distance trips for seniors.

In her spare time, she could be found frequenting local playhouses, having lunch with friends, or kicking back with a good book.

Rhoda was the loving mother of the late Sheryl Goldstein and adoring grandmother of the late Lynne Katherine “Mimi” Goldstein. She will be truly missed by her family, especially her loving sons, Mitchell and Allen, her cherished granddaughters Dawn and Tara, her dear grandson Joe, and her adoring great-grandchildren Samantha, Megan, Matthew, Morgan, and Noah.

Family and friends are joining together and invite you to attend a celebration of her life on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00pm at the Highland Park Senior and Youth Recreation Center, 220 So. 6th Avenue, Highland Park, NJ. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial donation to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org/support .
